Topic: trunk stuck shut!!

1968 finished restoring a few months ago.  It worked fine until just the other day.  I was able to get a light inside to see the mechanism is working and the pin is passed the hold down mechanism a little bit.  The secondary hook is also not the issue it's working also.  Any one encounter this before?  Any advise before I start cutting would be very much appreciated.

Get a second helper while you try it. Also you can thread  a towel thru the handle and rock it  back and forth, this will get it open sometimes. Good luck

also, try gently twisting the handle (not hard enough to bend the metal seriously, just lightly), while pushing on the very bottom of the hood. similar issues with my friends '73.
