It's easier to do these tests and more under the back seat as burrhead suggested. Start simple and clean the battery terminals and the negative connections to the body. Could be the problem especially if you are starting to get cold weather.
Then unplug the T1 connector on the drivers side floor under the back seat. The wire is red. When you turn the key to the start position you should get 12 volts at the wire to the front. Turn the key on and off a few times while watching the tester.
If you jump power from the battery to the wire going to the back, the starter should crank over. If you did want to add a hard start relay this is where you would insert it in the circuit.
