Topic: 1974 Beetle - Super or Standard

Hi,

Can anyone tell me from the image below if this is a super beetle or standard.

I know there are many other ways to tell, but this is all the info I have at this time.

Many thanks in advance for any help received.

After a bit of tweaking (and some BBCode research) I think the image should now work.  Thanks.

If it's definitely a 1974 model year...then it's a "Standard Beetle" due to the flat windshield.

Bumper mounts are before 1974, if it's a US model. 74 changed to the shock-mount impact bumpers

Re: 1974 Beetle - Super or Standard

Seems to be a right hand drive car, so US model recognition points are rather moot.  The car is definitely a standard, not a super.

From the US model perspective:
- front signal lights are pre-70
- rims are 75 on
- bumpers and brackets are pre-73
- hood is pre-67

Many thanks for the replies.

Sorry about the US/UK conversion, should have mentioned it's a UK model from the start.

From the comments, it sounds like this car has had a few 'modifications' in the past?

From USA,  yes but from UK ?
As soon as I saw the RHD I knew USA standards did not apply  wink
