Topic: Blinkers not stopping

I have  a 1970 beetle  both blinker work but won't stop after making a turn. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Re: Blinkers not stopping

Does it have an aftermarket steering wheel? At least on the earlier Beetles the lug that cancels the blinkers is attached to the bottom of the steering wheel, and most replacement wheels didn't have that part. I don't know if it changed on the later Beetles.

Re: Blinkers not stopping

If you do have a stock steering wheel...the same thing happens on my 79 Super.  The left turn signal will not cancel after making a turn.  I haven't really investigated it...but I'm thinking that either something is worn out...or something needs cleaning/lubrication.

If you have a stock steering wheel more than likely the switch is broken and needs replacing. It is just plastic and the tangs break off that hold the canceling spring.  sad
