I am posting this in General so I dont offend the air cooled forum police...lol  To make this short, does anyone know whether a 2001 golf GTI will run or start with the crankshaft position sensor unhooked....I will explain later....

It will RUN but it will not start......

Spammers - Besides linking to websites (which we delete), they now add their own website in their profile, signature, etc. Getting more work to moderate these. If it's an obvious spam I delete the whole post; which would have been in order here, as I recognized it as a repost.

Normally I would have deleted the original post (except that it didn't have any "spammy" links), and it seemed to be "on-topic" (except that it was a water-cooled vs. air-cooled VW question).

Bottom line...the spammers are pretty "sneaky" making their spam posts look like "real" posts.
