Re: How to get rear defroster to work

My situation is a little different: My relay is gone and the switch is burnt, but on Ghias they also have a small defroster duct that attaches to the heater duct on the right side, under the seat. When the heater flap is open and the floor vent closed, the increased pressure in the heater channel forces a little warm air out of the rear defroster vent. It's not much, but it will create a hole in the fog after about 10 minutes of driving. I imagine any serious ice on the outside of the glass would take about a week to clear at this rate. What I was wondering is this; has anyone tried putting a booster blower on this little duct?

Never tried that. It does help with the flow in the main ducts. doesn't make the air warmer just moves it. don't see why it would not help.

Interesting. I may just try that on my '78 bus rear window.

According to several posters, you are wasting your time. Those 2 haven't seen or heard of one in over 25 years that was any good. BTW maybe a bus is different wink

Hey, guess what? I tested the electrical grid on my back window a couple weeks ago, and it was... no... good...
Age apparently does not agree with them, lol.

Re: How to get rear defroster to work

Luckily we dont have this problem , mainly because our rear windows do not have defrosters!
