Topic: Carbon Canister lines to tank

Well i am asking Bookwus this question. Where does the lines go like under the car or inside the car to the gas tank? I will figure out where to get this plastic line to replace the ones i have. They are broken and missing.

(ID theft) wink
Well you see the lines go outside the body from the canister to the gas tank. It clips to the fender bolts then runs along side the heater channel. You can probably get the plastic line at you local hardware or HVAC place.

no worries. I am happy you respond. So yeah just trying to restore the original system and also to help gas mileage too. I think I will need to replace the filter inside the canister cause of many years it has been sitting before.

Re: Carbon Canister lines to tank

Restoring the EEC (evaporate emissions control) system won't improve your mileage but will eliminate gas smells. You can use steel brake line all along the side to the canister. 3/16" IIRC You will need the plastic expansion chamber in the trunk and braided hose. If you restore the system in the trunk and all the way back to the canister but stop there you will be venting to the rear and won't smell gas unless in a closed space.

Restoring the rest of the system from the canister to the air cleaner and fan housing will eliminate all the smell and be better for the environment as intended. You must refill the can with activated carbon pellets, not powder. Best place I've found to get it is a hydroponics supply store. Pet stores usually have only powder and very pricey.

There are many threads here on this job. Do a search.

Re: Carbon Canister lines to tank

Carbon Canister is important to control the venting and fuel vapor emission. you can just leave the line unplug, charcoal canister is also solution. The link given may helpful also .

But keep in mind that any solution must not harm the OZONE.
