so bug worked well for a week or so. now having the same problem. any advice would be appreciated.

I think that it would be a big help if you summarized what you've done so far...giving as much detail as possible.  Such as:

- new parts installed (especially how you setup that new carb.)
- adjustments that you've made (point gap, timing, valves, etc.)
- what parts you have in the vehicle (distributer type/model, carb. model)
