Topic: Red or Blue

A bit confused regarding Red or a blue loctite.  I read that red are for items that you would not unbolt frequently.    Do you fellow volkswebbin-er use the red loctite on your VW engines? Are they of equal strength in terms of locking abilities?

blue is for bolts that can be taken out. Red is more permanent

Both can be taken out. To remove the red it is recommended to heat up the fastener to melt it (the loctite) first. Red is considered "high strength" blue is considered medium, and thus easier to remove.
