Scott: This is third time I have tried to send this info to you. Not your fault. I have just wired my Ghia this way. It is because I race it ,and connecting, disconnecting is a real pain. It is easy.
First find the two head light looms, right & left. The cover ends before the wire mess behind the dash. At that point you can see the wires coming out out of each of the looms. Use aprobe to find the right & left turn signal wires. Use Scotch Locks to connect the wires from the car to the trailer plug. The plug wires will be identified by printing on them.
Now find any "running light wire", and connect it ,with a "S.L.", to the plug wire. Don't use a head light wire.
Your almost done. You now need to ground it. Usually the plug end ground is a white wire. Leave enough excess wire to connect to your car. Mine works so I sure hope yours does also.
Good luck, if I am wrong I'll hear about it, I'm sure. Don----------
