Topic: Snapped Bolt in front spindle...

simply put... I was taking off the front driver side caliper on my 1968 Ghia...

there are two bolts that hold the caliper into the spindle... one of them broke...

the caliper is off now...

the bolt broke off flush at the surface of the back of the spindle...

the disc is also off so I have easy access to the actual flat end of the bolt (the factory non broken end)

how do I get it out without wrecking the spindle???

let me know any suggestions...

thanks!!!

Re: Snapped Bolt in front spindle...

You'll have to drill it and use something like an EZ Out. It's a PITA. You can use reverse drill bits. Start small and repeat bigger and bigger till the bolt is hollow then use the EZ Out. Sometimes just drilling with reverse bits gets it backing out.

Use lots of penetrating oil. I like PB Blaster. It's better than Liquid Wrench for sure.
