Topic: door jam vin number

i have a 1973 karmann ghia...there is a sticker in the drivers side door jam and i was wondering if i had to have it since there is one the trunk and under the rear seat...

Hiya gru,

I'm guessing that you're referring to the doorjamb sticker with the perforated date of manufacture.

It's your car.  Do what you want.

I've seen those door jam I.D. stickers in various states of condition...from:

- perfect (like the day it came off the assembly line)
- completely gone
- partially missing (like mine)
- completely painted over

This is probably the least important of the three I.D. "badges".
