Topic: What find!

A retired gentleman who used to race Ghias said he was going to try and locate some carbs ond other part for me. He had given all his old parts to his grandson, and when he called to see what was left of his collection, his grandson told him he had just found a bus. The owner said that he drove it from Florida to Michigan and parked it in his garage... 25 years ago. It's a 1960, blue body with white roof, and has the Safari windows but not the small roof windows. It's said to be in mint condition, but I'll belive that when I see it. I will see if I can get some pictures for everyone, as we might be able to see it sometime this week.

I'd tend to think that any vehicle that has sat for 25 years would be in less than mint shape.

I have my doubts to the condition as well, and if the grandson has any sense he won't even attempt to start it there. I'm expecting there to be some rust, as even in a garage you still have moisture from the concrete. Exception would be a heated garage with carpet. My garage was attached and much warmer than outside, and I parked our Ghia on dry carpet, but I wouldn't leave it that way for a quarter century. Still, it will be interesting to see how it comes out, and at least it will be in better shape than one left outside.

I'm kind of curious as to what was wrong that made him park it.

And yeah--run interference if he wants to start it there--have wrench with you to turn the engine--or hit him with haha.
