Topic: Hi Ya'll

Wanted to introduce myself- I'm Pat with two beetles right now.  One is a 67 that my grandfather bought new- I still have the dealer keychain for that one.  The other is a 72 Baja SE that I got from a friend at work.  I am also picking up a 65 next week for parts.  I used to have a 71 bus named Rose but I  let her go to a new home with a guy from Vicksburg- wish I knew how to get in touch with him now!  My first car (back in 75) was a 65 Karmann Ghia, so I been around the Volks for a while.  Hope to get to know you guys better and hope I can help out too.  -Pat  (Carsavior)

Welcome Pat. You'll like it here.

Jim, I hope you didn't have to type all that. When I try to do a longer post, I usually get it almost complete and then I hit a wrong key and loose it all.

Re: Hi Ya'll

I've got a few interesting parts here too- I have a set of overrider rubber faces for 67 back still in the VW box- sorry, saving it for my 67 when I get a decent front bumper.  Got a two-barrel intake with Deano cast into it.  Got a few NOS parts I got for helping a guy clean out his deceased father's import shop.  Had a three-foot diameter VW sign but I let it go (foolishly).  Wish I could find my old bus- that would be super.  Anyone here from Vicksburg Mississippi?

Try typing your post on a word processor first and then copy and paste it to your post. You will save some aggravation not to mention the spell checker.

Not a proud owner of Sally 1969 Sedan with a burned 1915 tiger under the deck lid.
Also George a 1957 Sedan, not yet started with Resto.

Re: Hi Ya'll

67 is first year 12 volt swing arm, and a 1 year car ! Still the wide 5 Drum' pattern ! I would say 67 and 57 oval's probably the 2 most sought after Classic's in T-1 with exception of a Split rear window maybe !
In 68 this is 2nd year 12 volt swing arm and can be distinguished from the 67 because it has the 4 Lugg pattern and a stabilizer bar across rear axle !
In 69 they went to First year IRS 12 volt !
Nice List there Jame's ! Yupp 1 year only Car lott's of them out there very few Authentic OEM Restoration's !
Most are Cal Lookers !! Wich there's nothin wrong with the Cal Look ! But funn too look over a 67 to see what is OEM and what isnt for the Purist at heart !
Vicksburgh ?? As in GeneralLee speakin ?? Ive Been told it's beautifull Country as In Scenic Drive's etc.
As to Roy Rogers and Trigger ?? We have the Roy Rogers Dale Evan's Museum here ! occassionally you will pass an Old Bentley with Dusty at the Wheel Cruisin around Town .
My Wife use too Attend Church of the Valley , where Dale was quite active in Church Function's , Might be wrong on this but think Dale started the Red Hatt Lady's Club !
I still see these Lady's around Town ! In Fact My Grumpy Old Pop's blew his Horn at one the other day for Cuttin him off !
As to Trigger <<< they stuffed him and he is in the Museum ?? The whole Taxidermy thing kinda creep's me out ?? That and Renderin Mouse Oil ?? just Creepy !! LMAO
Lil Trivia : Roy and Dale adopted like over 50 Kidd's and Raised them here !
About the only Pett Peave I got against Roy is he was a Bigg Supporter of are corrupted Sheriff's Dept .
I like to think or beleive that in His Twilight year's he was Just Unaware of the Corruption ??
As to Heroe's and Hero Worship ?? Ive alway's leaned torward's Gene Autrey ! A real American and a Real Fighting Man !
Like the Valley Chick's from Vanuy's use to ask me ! Are you a Real Cowboy ?
Look um Dead in the Eye and Tell um " Nope , I just wear Cowboy Git up to Impress You Sweet Heart " LMAO
