Topic: New to site and a new VW owner

I've been reading your posts for a couple weeks now. I just purchsed a 1970 VW Bug last week and I have a long road of restoration ahead. The car runs and drives ok but the floor pans will need replacing and there are many rust areas on the car. Thanks to everyone for your information that you post.

Welcome, Tommy! I know that you will get a lot of help here but hope that you'll also share your experiences with your restoration. You'll be surprised how much help you'll give others.

Yupp Im out here in the Buggy Capitol of the World So. Cal.
I see more Bugg's than most ! call it my luck or or it's gettin harder and harder to come by the Clean car's !
Ask me ? Im of the opinion there gettin fewer and farther between , as to last coupla month's seem's like there's been a flurry of buggy activity !
Seen it before ! Gas goe's up , Badd economy , everyone start's lookin for that cheap 2nd back up Car !!
In light of recent political event's ??? LMAO
Gotta wonder if, restoreing old A.C. V.W.'s dont catch on permanent , in a Biggg Way !
Out here in So . Cal between Smogg , and high Insurance and Street Racer's and Corruption , Unconstitutional Police task force, High Fuel cost, Astronomical Registration fee's ???? Bugg's are the obvious choice left to Car Enthusiast .
Still fairly cheap to Register and Insure a V.W.
Part's have tripled in Cost here last 10 year's ??? Go figure !!!
As to Pann replacement ?? I like repairing Old OEM pann's when ever feasible V.S. Replaceing the whole side or a qaurter !
Like Battery box << Just hand fitt a cutt peice rather than replace a qaurter or half ! If it's feasible ! Not cancerd out !
I like pann drain's under my battery and access plates too my pedal assembly via the passenger side of the tunnel !
   70's nice year ! We runn a 69 beater 8 year's 6 and 7 day's a week ! Use to runn a 70 for year's !
    I like um !
   Welcome !
