Re: Sean

If someone carries around a simple to use device, solely designed to take human life, people will die. Simple really.

How about Battleship Gray?

Re: Sean

And Jim that is why I am so scared of the ease in getting a concealed weapons permit here in the states. I agree that the gun is/was designed ultimately to take life. Human or animal. I'm not arguing the point because that is what the 44 mounted behind my head board will do in the event I need or my wife needs to defend ourselves or our family as a whole. But the thought of a gun wielding public makes me worry even more as I take my family out and about. I don't know if it's from seeing so much public violence on the news (or reading it on Volkswebbin) or that I am a master chess player but I find myself in every situation weather it be a visit to the parts store, grocery store, mall or out to eat, playing a life game of chess. I am always on the look out for the next safest move (how and where can I go should trouble arise). This is a mental action that takes place in my subconscious so I don't want you to think that I'm some sort of scitsafrinic fool running around with my eyes peeled for the next killer. Just keeping me and my families best interest in check.

Re: Sean

I used to work with a guy that thought that way. After the LA riots he carried that weapon in his trunk, a little paranoid I think.  He did encourage having a weapon and definitely getting trained with it. Know how to use it safely.  I don't ever think we should lose our right to bare arms. Guns don't kill, people kill. Cars don't kill, people driving them do. No machine is dangerous until you introduce human beings. The most dangerous animal on planet earth? Humans. I don't have any weapons, I do have an air rifle that is just under the power of a .22, but I have only shot targets and such.

Re: Sean

Good to hear from you sean. I have to opinionate my self again, I don't own a "weapon" either but have plenty of "weapons"at my disposal, take your pick as to which one if the need arises. It is all in the perception. An air rifle is powerful, ask my little bro but then he only shot at targets too.  just think of all the people out "there" who think like the above posters. Pretty scary to be put amongst them. I'm OK its them you have to worry about,LOL

Re: Sean

Easy now, I don't want to get roped into a "thought that way" " above posters" crowd. I don't carry a gun and I don't condone it either. I have a gun that sees action every 2 months or so when I get sex and the headboard shakes. And I wouldn't say I'm "paranoid" just safety aware. Hey I'm no worse.......................wait..........gotta go, my Prozac shipment just got here and Dr.Phil is coming on.

Re: Sean

Yeah well I don't need to be medicated...I always thought gun control was hitting your target. Or in 71's case not shooting too soon!

Re: Sean

I've said it before, it's too late to disarm the USA. There are just too many guns already out there. So control the bullets. Only sold at police departments to picture card carrying customers so they can track how many you buy. There are police stations everywhere so hunters shouldn't be too inconvenienced. And the profits would go to maintaining the storefronts at the stations. The bad guys will run out so their guns are useless. Also dogs can smell bullets (gunpowder) but they can't smell new guns.

Have you ever carried a concealed hand gun in public? What bothers me is that you cannot walk down the street with a gun in your pocket and not feel different. Powerful, cocky, confident, whatever. And you can't forget you have it. It changes you while you carry it. So what? Well it's OK for the good guys to feel that way but think about the bad guys who feel like that while carrying? Very dangerous.

The right to bear arms seemed like a good idea at the time but lets face it it was a bad idea. The purpose was so the populace could overcome their own army if the gov't goes bad. Ain't gonna happen! Americans shoot each other in alarming numbers because of this. Canadians are no different though. It's just really hard to get a gun here and you get jail time for sure for simple possession of a hand gun.

Here's a great VW for touring America>
