Topic: SwapFest 2008

Swap parts, cars, and/or race your Volkswagen, Corvette, Muscle Car, Street Rod, or any other special interest auto in our Low Speed Autocross Competition.

Mid America Motorworks will host its bi-annual Swapfest on Saturday, October 11th, 2008. The swap meet will once again be held on the corporate campus in Effingham, Illinois, where automotive enthusiasts of every type have the chance to explore thousands of parts, buy, sell and swap, as well as meet with other collectors. In addition, a "Car for Sale Corral" will be available for individuals who would like to sell their vehicles.

"Swapfest is quickly becoming a 'must attend' event. Finding great bargains is just part of the reason. People really enjoy meeting and having fun with other automotive enthusiasts at Swapfest," said Mike Yager, the company's "Chief Cheerleader." "We have just completed upgrading our Swapmeet facility with new roads plus expanded and improved swap spaces. This is an important and growing part of our hobby. Dont miss it!"

All items offered for sale must be automotive parts, accessories, or memorabilia for any type of enthusiast auto, whether Chevrolet, Ford, Mopar, Hot Rods, Street Rods or Muscle Cars, plus special emphasis on Corvettes and Classic Volkswagens. To keep the real swap meet feel, only private sellers are allowed; commercial vendors will not be permitted. There is no charge to attend Swapfest, which runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the company's headquarters on North Rte. 45 in Effingham, IL.

For those looking to sell their own collections, 20' x 20' exhibit spaces are available for $40 each. Anyone wishing to sell a vehicle at the Swapfest "Car for Sale Corral" can do so for a non-refundable fee of $25 per vehicle. Exhibitor set up will begin at 7:00 a.m.

Attendees can also purchase Mid America Motorworks' returned, scratched and discontinued merchandise at special discount prices, plus buy new parts and accessories at 10% off catalog prices, with free ground shipping.

Mid America Motorworks holds a Spring and a Fall Swapfest every year. The Fall Swapfest will be held on October 11, 2008 and the Spring Swapfest will be held on May 2nd, 2009.

So what's your relationship to MAMW?  LOL I thought the fall swapfest was for vettes and the spring swapfest was for VW? Have you been to one? I hear there is over 1000 Vw in attendance. How is the track coming?

Ok I was just curious. I looked and the vette meet is Sept 19-21. I know it keeps getting bigger and better(swapfest). If you get to go keep us posted. I will make it one of these days.

Oh I will. I have been to the FunFest for a few years and those are some of the best days ever! So I hope SwapFest will be just as great.

Re: SwapFest 2008

It is a neat event. I went to the fall event last year but was kinda bummed as the swap meet wasn't much and the showing of cars was low. I traveled 11 hours for it. It was all about mid america and selling their ware.
I was told by people that attend regular to go to the spring event as it is three times the size and the swap meet is really big.

I made the best out of it and took my female co-pilot on a tour the best I could. You guyz gotta lot of corn fields down there.

You should have fun Nick. Post pics when you come home.
