I am looking for a 40 horse thermostat assembly.  All I really need is the downrod, not the actual thermostat or bracket.  Maybe you have one?  Thanks in advance
Ernie

Bug Guy--are you familiar with the old VW mechanic/ junk yard off Dufferin and Hwy7 ??    Is that you?
I understand when they built the 407 the shop moved everything north but don't know where.
I was at the old location once, he was closed, then the next time I went the place was gone.
Just wondering--that place has sorta turned into an urban legend with me.

to scubadad: the one 1600 case i have has a seized crank shaft, and the heads and cylinders are beyond repair, but the case is still in good condition, so it should b rebuildable. im not too sure what year, butit came with my '62 (its defenatly not from that year tho) and I would like to get about $150

to Patty B. : no, that wasnt my shop, come to think of it I have never heard of that place before. Is there anything in paticular you were looking for?

Nope don't anything right now --thanks!
Just wondered if you were that business--I wish I could remember the name--I'm sure a local VW dealer on that side of the world could remember.

Re: variety of beetle parts for sale. CHEAP!!! ALL MUST GO A.S.A.P!!!

Dont worry. but I wouldnt recommend you going to haymen's, cuz of several reasons. I personally have had bad experiences. I once bought a tow bar from him for $50, but he never gave me the conecting plate for it, after he said he would. He sold me a compleetly rotted out seat for like $100, and to top it all off, when i took my shell '58 bug there to get work done on it, he left it outside in the bad weather for 2 weeks. when i found out about it i went down to take my car back. however he put the car in the shop the day i came down, and had already removed the 4 fenders. when i told him i was taking my car back, he got very aggitated, and even threatened to hit me several times. and then he charged me close to $500 just for taking it into his shop, and taking the fenders off! I strongly urge you NEVER to go to him for anything. (and very important, NEVER tell him what, and how good your old VW is. He has been caut countless times stealing his coustomers stuff) I hope I may have saved you time, money and a lotta stress by telling you this, because I wouldnt want to see anyone else ripped off by that guy.
