Topic: Poker Run 2008

I failed to post the event before it happened but here are some pictures of our club's (The Volkswagen Club of Athen) 4th annual Poker Run. It is a tour starting in Helen, Ga and stops include the start in Helen,  lunch at a 50's diner, Tallulah Gorge, Moccasin Creek State Park, sweet treats at the Dairy Queen in Hiawassee and returning to the host hotel in Helen for a cook out. What a blast. We had an amazing line of 40 cars including bugs, westy, 23 window, thangs, sand rails, mods, one RH drive beetle and a few water breathers thrown in for good measure. The twisties through the north Georgia mountains was amazing. Windows down, radio low, moderate temperature and the beautiful sound of Fweeeeeem echoing off the mountain walls. Poker Run? Sorry, I forgot to explain this. At each stop everyone draws a card and the one with the best hand at the end gets to draw first in a vat of prizes and then the next highest and so on and so on. Our prizes included Scat 1.25:1 rocker assy, Scat Dragfast Shifter, Scat Billet oil drain plate, Bosch spark plug wires, 4 bosch spark plugs, Engine gasket kit & flywheel seal, Valve Cover Gasket 10 pack........................
