Topic: different header for 1600 to 1641 rebuild?

without knowing what the displacement of my current engine is, i'm thinking of getting a rebuild kit for a 1641 (new cylinders/pistons) but it does not include heads.  So i'm just wondering if the heads need to be machined to handle the larger cylinder at all?

thanks!

bignic,
Usually the 87mm cyl. are "slip in's" = same diameter OS diameter as stock 85.5 cyl. Only if you go 88 mm(some 88's are slip in)  and larger do you need to machine heads AND case. for the larger displacement cyl.
