On my 1970 Beetle, the oil pressure light has been working normally until recently. Now when I turn on the ignition, before I start the engine, the light does not come on. I have checked all fuses, replaced the bulb, and finally, the oil pressure sender behind the distributor. It still does not come on!
Where do I look next for the solution?
Bad ground. Check wire continuity. Maybe the oil sender is bad.

Ground the oil pressure switch wire and then turn the key on. The oil pressure switch provides ground. If it does not light, it is a problem with the wiring.
I will try grounding the sender wire to see what happens.
I found the problem to be a 'female' spade connector on the speedometer end of the circuit, behind the bulb. It almost fell apart in my hand and when I replaced that, everything worked fine.

Year/Model?
In a stock, uncut old style Beetle harness, I believe it should be the solid green wire that's part of the harness on the left side of the engine compartment.
Actually the wire is blue/green.
