Topic: geuss whose back!!!!!!!! and I need some more help

what's up ya'll? Ok pretty much got all my pervious issues under control. Need some help on my bumpers. Do you think it'd be better to try and repair and get them re-plated or would I be father ahead just to buy brand news ones? I e-mailed a few places about re-plateing and it's gonna be like $550 a bumper, little steep fo rme right now(being in school). If I do get new ones their prolly either gonna be brand new or I could get some from a swap meet I would think. And how's the front bumper held on?? Is it the same as the back I'm not able to get that off for the life of me. Got the back one off a while ago no problem(or reletivly no problem). Is there any "secret" to break through rust?? I'm thinking that's the problem(make that the HUGE problem), not only for the bumpers but for what's left of the running boards as well as other spots.

Re: geuss whose back!!!!!!!! and I need some more help

One thing you could do is if your current bumpers are in good condition, save them and when you have the $$$ to have them re-chromed go for it.  In the mean time you could buy the cheaper ones.  But be forewarned, they will rust and pit in record time, especially in the TN humidity. If you go that route I would suggest coating them with glossy clear spray paint.  Or polishing the heck out of them with some good chrome polish.

There is a website in which a guy "restores" his vw beetle for a small amount of money and he shares with us how he did it.  This website is kind of old and some of the Parts Places he got stuff from are now defunct.  But some good information overall.  http://members.tripod.com/~thomasamille … ation.html

Re: geuss whose back!!!!!!!! and I need some more help

Wow Gipper!  I would be interested if they weren't gray!  My interior is tan.  It hides the mud and dirt quite well!

Re: geuss whose back!!!!!!!! and I need some more help

Is your SB Green"?  I knew those were with the tan interior.  But when I just finished mine I backed off on the tan and went with grey and black seats.  Have you seen my picture yet?  Go back a few post and it will say "Gippers Pictures"

And if anybody wants to know my budject is self-explainatory in the oridnal post(the being in school part.) and why do the last few post say they were posted in 04?
