Can I get some input on this?

Most people don't appreciate the Rat Rod Look as being a showable car (unless your definition is different from mine).  Therefore, of your choices, the choice seems to be one - Resto Mod.  I'm curious though, where are you going to find a "modern style headliner(no bows)"?

So why not just pick the style you want? Rather than worrying about winning a two dollar trophy.

71: As noted in earlier threads, get out a sheet of paper for each option and then compare the prices given the things you "want" and the things you "need". This takes a bit of time and reseaching of catalogs, shops specializing in VW stuff and on-line vendors. If you don't at least have a rough idea of the cost going into your project, (and then double the estimate!) I can almost guaranty that you will not be satisfied with the rate of progress or final product. If you can't do all or most of the work yourself (like paint and body, for instance) you really need to get some professional estimates. Now, after you've done all that, can you afford one or more of the options? Which things that you "want" will have to be replaced by things you "need"? Even the "rat look" has its associated expenses.....
In my opinion, your budget of time and $$$$ should guide your decision.

Bottom line: What are you leaning towards? You won't find a final answer from us, because it's not our car. If all you are asking is which I prefer, well, for me the answer is "none of the above" .....But that's me talking, because I prefer to keep my Bugs fairly "stoock" without a lot of the upgrades you mentioned. That's not a criticism of your choices, just an expression of my opinion....and I'm not paying for any of it!

Good luck in your research, of which the responses you get in this thread are only part.

Patrick- that's sort of like what I was talking about with the pic and no I have'nt thought about a standerd beetle one(so thanks for the idea). As far as the dash I'm not entirly sure yet on what I'm going to so with it. I could'nt get in that link you posted.

both of you guys- The rat look now that I thought of it a while is best left to the old fords and chevys(something that has a little more power). Besides if I did decided that look I'd be almost done BUT I'm satifiyied with it "as is" so that's a no go yo!! And I was just curoius on what people would think be a better car show lookl.

I Like the Ratt Rod Look . Just not crazy about idea of choppin the top off . But Ratt Rodded with a top is cool . I Have Hot Vw's Magg on Ratt Rodds . Flatt Black, or black  be my choice in Colour And Wheel Well's << Lightly Under coated too break up Black . Billet Dash insert . Custom Steering Wheel , badd A-- Motor . As too Front Ends I would keep Modded Front End Cheaper Better handling . Sett of chrome baby moons << Give her the 50's Look Maybe Really Low geared Transaxle With Big white wall tire on back Right Kinda Motor ? Might pick Front end up off Ground > Baby Blue Maybe against Black ? <, Might be An Idea ? Sean
