Yet you spend hours composing smart alek remarks to just about everything posted on this forum.  Just think of how much more time you'd have for your kids, or making money, or on your real ride if you weren't wasting your (and our) time with your inane comments.

PS Your computer has a SHIFT key and an apostophe for a reason.  Read your manual on how and when to use them.

no, i am watching the kids, cause the wife is on vacation.......as far as making money, i got that handled and it works automatically and effortlessly (its called working smarter, not harder) and when i get back to working on my ride next week, at least I have the sense not to put mexican fenders or brazilian running boards on it. oh yeah, in this day and age we dont really need full punctuation for people to understand, read the posts of others for evidence. .......is an old man trying to tell me about computers?????   how many beads on your abacus???

So you don't want to put Mexican and I'm assuming Italian fenders on your bug.  What do plan on doing if you need to replace a fender and there no used German ones available?  And I wholeheartily agree with David.  You are an irritating smart alek who adds no useable advice on this board.

SpongeBob  sounds like a New Yorker.  But I think we have to remember  are we Restoring or  rebuilding.  Figure most of these bugs and Vans have been doctored enough over 30-40 years.  If we can fix one up to be presentable and driveable to enjoy that is what it is all about.  It is cost prohibitive for a majority of us to take her down to the bare bones and put all perfect original or replacement parts in. But to take an old bug and make it presentable and drivable cause even my 8 and 10 year grandsons always turn and look at an old bug irregardless of what shape it in.  I read a few of Spongey's other posts and he did have some good input.  Not that I am going to bat for him he has been kinda rude and ruffled a few feathers.  But his attitude has been EXACTLY like the people he has been say need to lighten up.

dont extrapolate someones income or source.  trust me, you dont wanna go there. it wouldnt be right for ME to extrapolate about you and other canadians and say that you are socialists, heavy gamblers, and living "on the dole".  because its simply not true. dont take "snapshots" and think you know. but canada sure does produce a lot of good comedians, maybe thats whats up.

BTW: i wasnt aware of the used german fender drought. if they are so rare, ill sell mine.

I didn't say it was worth $2750 to ME... I said it was worth $2750 on the open market.

Some kid who has always wanted one and has Daddy's wallet would pay that. Let's not be snobs... let's be realists. This guy obviously is not marketing it to the knowledgeable buyer, but the other 95% who have no clue what they will find underneath or inside.

Have you been living in a cave?  If you had any real interest in, or knowledge of the VW hobby, you would know how rare and hard to find certain german parts are.  And here I thought you were the fountain of all knowledge.

Even after your insight and "research" you are still here.  I've been visiting this board since the late 1990's.  There are also quite a few others on here who have been on here as long or longer than me.  I haven't noticed this "alpha-male" behavior you claim to see on here.  But then again I don't have the "sixth sense" that you seem to.  Those of us that have been on here for years have seen your kind come and go.  And we are still here.  I think you should check out the samba dot com.  You will find yourself in like minded company over there.

Typical response from people like yourself.  So what you are saying is that we should let you post rude, ignorant, smart alek remarks in the middle of our posts, but we need to the bigger person and ignore you.  Let you have your fun.  Instead of it being the other way around, in which you grow up, respond with helpful information and when you want to be crass, start your own thread, instead of taking over someone elses.  Trust me if this board had an "ignore" button, like chatrooms do, I would have already clicked it.
