I OGT AN IDEA!!!!!! could'nt instead of getting the spring get the stand off kit I've seen???
The spring holds the decklid open so it doesn't bonk your head when you're working on the engine. All the stand offs do is create a 2 or 3 inch gap at the top of the decklid so more cooling air gets in. If you're in a wet climate, the standoffs aren't a great idea in the rainy season.
well considering all the shows it gonna be in is gonna be in the late late spring and during the summer do you think it a good idea to go the standoff route? Oh I almost forgot the shows is basically when it's gonna be out and about, aside from the acasional zip around the block(problaby a day or two before a show just to make sure everything is ok) but that's about it. I've herd about how it makes like scoop effect.

If that's all you'll be doing with it, all that matters is whether or not you like the look.
The real reason for it is getting extra cooling air into engines, particularly when the displacement has been increased and/or the decklid doesn't have any louvres in it. Trailer/Garage Queens won't benefit from them, except for looks.
ok I think I'm going that route not only will I think it'll look cooler but the more air getting the better right??? AIR-cooled it'll run cooler right?? The only thing that mite classify it as a garage queen is that when it's not in a show it's wither going to/coming from it or it's in the barn where it is right now until the next show or when winter is over.
