Topic: Super Beetle Sedan Vent Wing Seal??

Hi, All: Just a quick question: I recently acquired a left side vent wing seal. It does not fit the standard 65-78 Beetle, and I'm wondering if it is for a large-windshield Super? The part number is 113 837 625.2 ....yes, it has a ".2" at the end rather than a letter. It is about 2 inches longer on the bottom leg of the seal than that for a standard. The part number for the standard Beetle is 111 837 625B and the number for the convertible starts with a 151.

By the way, I couldn't find this part number on my ETKA VW parts CD. Anyone have another reliable source? I am planning on selling the seal and want to describe it accurately.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Super Beetle Sedan Vent Wing Seal??

This is a VW Brazil part and should fit pre-65 German vehicles.

BTW, Super doors are no different to Standards.

Re: Super Beetle Sedan Vent Wing Seal??

PJMS: Thanks very much for the information. I've heard that the only difference on Super bodies vs. Standard bodies are found in front of the "A" pillar. Not having a lot around to check, I couldn't tell for sure. None of the on-line vendors specify anything for a Super....only for 65-78 standards....maybe that's because there are no differences as you say, and they expect people to know that...hmmmn. But why would they not add that as a footnote for the novice Super Owner?

Thanks, again.

Re: Super Beetle Sedan Vent Wing Seal??

It's amazing how many 'venders' don't actually know that much about VW's!  As a general rul on this:  For 71-72 Supers, everything up to, and including, the A-pillars is the same.  For 73-75 Supers the A-pillars became unique to that model, so you could say "everything up to the doors".
