Topic: VW Van Repair/Restoration in Knoxville?

Greetings:

I had my 1979 Westfalia stored for three years and just started driving it again. It has body and undercarriage rust. Also has timing, compression and overheating problems with engine, a front brake caliper problem, and some need for interior/exterior restoration. Overall, however, the vehicle is strong; I had the engine rebuilt shortly before I stored the vehicle.

If anybody knows of a mechanic and/or restorationist in the Knoxville/Farragut, Tennessee area, I would much appreciate knowing how to contact them. I can be reached via email at advancedliving@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your assistance.

Pete: People will see it here but you might want to consider also posting this on the "Technical" or "General" forums. Send "crumb" an email. I think he's in your area.

Yep Im in the area but cannot offer much help.

By doing a search for TN at the samba I found these results:

There is a guy in Maryville that does alot of work from what I understand.

Dont forget about the VW Expo in July down at Chillowee Park. I am certain you will find some local people to network with.

I too am new to VW and have alot to learn myself. I wouldnt feel confident enough to go monkeying around under someone elses VW.

Good luck! Hope to see you at the Expo.

No beetle.

Thanks, Clancy and Crumb. I will post in technical and hope to get the vehicle running safe enough to drive to the event in Kville.

Cheers,
