Re: Kumho Tire First Impressions
Have you ever tried VW's recommendation of 19F/27R for tire pressures?
Re: Kumho Tire First Impressions
I have run a set of those tires for a few years. No problems yet.
Hey....might be in the Springs area in May. Family there. Might actually move to Co. if I can find cheaper living than in Seattle.

Bruce: I've not tried the 19F/27R setup yet but with the new tires it just might be time for an experiment or two. I do know that the 6 pound diference is really important, at least in my experience....I guess I've just been running at a slightly higher baseline pressure (24/30) for lower rolling resistance, and maybe better mileage(??). My typical driving is probably 80% city and 20% highway (50+ mph).
A more subconscious concern is the fact that the stock rims on my '65 do not have the "saftey bead" inside the rim which is supposed to keep the tire bead on the rim in the event of sudden steering moves with the potential for instantaneous and catastrophic deflation... I believe that early on VW even recommended inner tubes for owners that planned on mounting radials to these rims....Is any of this still of concern? I guess that's the other reason I've always held the pressure to the upper end of the pressure range. Your thoughts would be most welcome.
Craig: Drop me an email when your in the area and maybe we can meet and swap lies!
