I just thought that I would introduce myself.  I grew up as an "apprentice" to my professional mechanic brother.  He specialized in VWs.  He also is a collector.  His first was a 50 split and then a 50 'vert.  I've owned sveral Bugs through the years and last year purchased my Thing.  What a fun car!  I also have a 64 Chevelle Malibu 'vert.  As nice as it is to drive a classic American car, my Thing gets much more recognition.
