Topic: Pop-out window tips?

I picked up a set of used pop-out windows off eBay (for $0.1! - only bidder) and of course they need new rubber seals, etc. Getting the parts is no problem, but even my big Bentley "1200" manual shows no details of the popouts.
Does anyone know if you have to spread open the aluminum frame off the glass to work in the new rubber seal?
Any tips from someone who has done this would be appreciated.

I remembered seeing this somewhere- where else but John Henry's Bugshop!  Doesn't sound like much fun, but I'm sure you will prevail...

Tom, When I added popouts to my bug I had the same problem. I did use soapy water to help lubricate and clean up everything. Just be carefull as the windows do get very slippery. Once I got the channel of I used soapy water and an old tooth brush to clean the channel. Good luck, David
