I've noticed that many of the major Aircooled VW parts places are selling brand new reproductions of the original beetle rims w/ hubcap. I wish someone would reproduce the "Sport Rims" that came on the 1974 Sun Bug and 1975 and up Super Beetles. After being in service for around 29 years, mine are a little worse for wear!!!!

Have you ever considered having your wheels powdercoated? Colors can be matched (at least they can get darn close) and once that coating is on there you'll have a very durable surface.
But like I said.....just a thought.

Yes, as a matter of fact I have considered having them sandblasted and powder coated. The problem is the rims are pretty out of round. :-(
I don't think I've ever seen the "sport rims". & now my curiosity has the best of me. could anybody post a picture?
