Topic: New parts sources on East Coast

Are there any good suppliers of parts on the East Coast? Ive seen a few on the West Coast but shipping could really add up.

I'm new to Bugs and just began waking up a 1973 from a 19 year hibernation.

First order of business is the brake system. The rear drums look to be 9.25". Too far gone to resurface so I want to order new ones along with new wheel cyinders.

I guess WolfsburgWest.com doesn't sound too East Coast, does it? Still one of the best places for top quality stock parts. Another good source trending to performance is aircooled.net. Oh, and vicsvw - who contributes to this forum at times - has provided some of the best shape used parts I've bought.

Hiya M1009,

You might want to check out the Bus Depot.  They're just outside of Philadelphia and they have a very good reputation in the Bus community.  Besides the fact that many Bus parts are interchangeable with Type 1s, the Bus Depot does carry Bug specific parts.

There are plenty.  Just check the back pages of Hot VWs or VW Trends.
