Topic: New Owner of 74 Super Beetle

I am a new owner of a 74 Super Beetle.  Previously, I have owned a 58 Beetle, 65 Beetle (both german specs), a 73 Super Beetle, 76 Scirocco, and a 71 (?) Squareback. Glad to be back in an air-cooled V-Dub.

It has had some work done (engine, transaxle, paint, and brakes) but still needs some TLC (interior, rt side pans).

This will be my daily commuter (5-6 miles 1-way) and project car.

Just glad to find this forum in case of problems.

I have access to a local garage with a Wolfsburg-trained mechanic, very friendly and helpful so far.

Hiya Rosie (and Welcome!)

One of the really great things about buying a new-to-you VW (or probably any car for that matter) is going through the beast and finding what the PO left.  I found an assembly tag from the factory still in the car.  Amazing!

Let us know how it "shakes down".  There are lots of folks here who have a world of VW knowledge.  And it's all at your disposal.
