Were runnin a Tri mill on a 1600 with 110 cam and 041 heads there not stainless steel but a ceramic coated ? One im runnin right now is the turned down style ? << I dont like it ? As the tri mill was a sloppy fit too tight in the turn,s and the pipes almost touch ?? <, Played with it for hours ? But too answer your question where the slipp joint,s are ya have too be extremely carefull here cause this is life of the exhaust ? But the idea here is using a fine, sand paper then 000 steel wool hand fit the tubes intoo the collector . Noteing that the tubes should have even spaceing and be tight when spring,s are attached . << Meaning dont sand it too point that tubes go all the way in flush and bottom out against the tabbs where the spring,s attach on the collector . << The idea being by leaving a good inch too inch and a half spacing on the tubes << That if you remove the exhaust at some time in future you can use steel wool too tune up the end,s of the tubes a lil bit so that tubes fit lil deeper in the collector and seal each time but note this is the life of a tri mill ? Each time you sand tube ends the deeper they go intoo the collector . <, meaning that when one of the tubes reaches the collector spring tabb ? <, Tri mill is wore or burned out resulting in leaky exhaust that pop,s and cutting up beer can,s too tighten the tube up in the collector . So sand tube ends evenly and not too excess just enough ta gett a good fitt and seal ? Ohh and no f--n silicone Yeeesssshhhhh Less it,s some body elses 200 dollar exhaust system then dont care what ya do JB weld it for all i care lmao Muffler patch LMAO IF ya bought the U bend Tri mil like i did nothin ya can do about it cept buy the straight collector for it ? I dont like the U bend style as it does blow soot on the motor cage and i find it direct,s exhaust heat back down on the motor ? Blameing this screw up on Dad he bought it ? << Now the one im building right now << As in my car the carefully thought out and planned 20 th try at the perfect baja car ? I bought the Bug pack version of the Tri Mill with the straight collector pipe . It look,s the same as a Tri Mill it,s ceramic coated and is 40 dollars cheaper ? << Money was not the reason i opted too buy it tho. Reason i opted for the Bug Pack version of the tri mill is because i bought it at Motor Craft down in Riverside Calif. << These guy,s pretty sharp been doin the Turbo charged air cool bugg motor,s longer than any body else around ? But the Counter guy pointed out too me that the exhaust flange on the Bug Pack Version of the Tri Mill exhaust has thicker flanges where they bolt too the head,s ? << Idea being that they would dissipitate heat better and less vibration << That can lead too crack,s or leak,s etc . As i havent got my car together yett ? I have not used it but having used Tri Mill,s in various colors , black, chrome , over the year,s , what he said made sense so i will try it see if i get performance that i get out of a Tri Mill ?
