Topic: Can you fit a 130tooth flywheel on a 6v crankshaft?

If you want to fit a 12v flywheel and starter to a 6v engine, will the later 12v  'o ring' flywheel fit the end of the 6v crank? (6v cranks have a bigger diameter boss part at the rear end and use bigger shims, does this stop the 12v flywheel from fitting?)  I appreciate that the o ring wouldn't seal and the early paper gasket would be needed.

Before anyone says it, I realise you can run a 6v starter and 109t flywheel on 12 volts and there's no need to change it as part of a 12v conversion,  but would the later flywheel fit if you wanted to upgrade?

The Inside of the "O" ring flywheel must be cut from the "O" ring grove out to 2.165" dia. and then it will go right on. See -> http://www.1800vw.bizhosting.com/qa_12star40hp.htm

Thanks Vic, good to get it confirmed and good to have the dimensions too.
