Topic: Shops in NY 'burbs?

I have a '74 Superbeetle that needs some major engine work.  I'm kinda handy, but I sold my tools when I sold my bus, so now my Beetle starts making horrid noises and I can't get in to look at what's going on.  Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Northern Jersey or Rockland Co., NY?  Any help would be mucho appreciated!

Hi,

There used to be a good place in Towaco, NJ called George's.  I haven't been there in a while, but I called him about 2 years ago and he was still there.

Lot's of old air-cooled VWs in the yard there and some nice show cars too.

The only other one I know of is Pegasus in either Elizabeth,NJ or Linden, NJ.  they do restorations and repair work.  I don't know anything about their quality though.
