Does anybody know about swapping the Subaru EA82 (1.8 turbo boxer) engine to a dune buggy?
How hard is it and what kind of changes have to be done?

Yeah i been checkin out the Subes but you dont say what were puttin it in Baja , Rail , etc For a Baja like ta tell ya there just too heavy ? Buddy did it out here in dessert it,s just front axle bouncer . So can tell ya this Mid engine is almost a must . So actuall doin it im kinda miffed on specific,s . Due too fact it,s primarily Rail Application only in a mid engine rail Try outback.com these are the high dollar guy,s doin it . Sean

I was going to suggest you post this on Shop-talk-forums, but I see you already did.
Next to an actual VW motor. the motor youre proposing is probably the best choice. The EJ20 Subaru motors are more powerful, but heavy. I have a friend who did your conversion for his bug and has been very pleased with the result. Not much heavier than a VW motor really.
