Topic: sound absorber

Hi!
I am looking for a source for sound absorber material similar to the original material on the tunnel of an old Beetle (1958). This is a black tarlike/fiber combination. Does anyone know where I can find something similiar before I go ahead and use some newer style material? I would like original style if possible.

My '57 bug tar board was falling apart so I used some "Torch On" roofing material. Cut to size and then use a propane torch to heat it up it bends and form fits the pan. Looks good
