Topic: Lost Volkswagen links.

I used to have some websites bookmarked but they're gone and now I have need of them again but can't find them.  Hopefully, someone else is familliar with them.  Search engines are turning up nothing.  One was called "Furtell Auto Works"  or "Werks".  They showed really good photos of things like changing axels and C.V. joints on Golfs and Jettas.  The way I linked into that was because they were showing how to change gauge faces.  Also, I used to find that "John Henery's Altar" site usefull.  The one that showed how to Mig weld a nut onto a broken stud to remove it and breaking a tire bead with some boards and a car.  You could link to that from the old Volkswebbin' site but that does not seem possible now. If you know where thease are I'd love to know about it.  Thanks.  Scott.

Re: Lost Volkswagen links.

I too lost every link I had not too long ago, is there any way we can get everybodies favorite links posted here, as some sort of project?  Yancey

Re: Lost Volkswagen links.

The site with the C.V. joints was www.4130-products.com/index.htm  Not furtell auto works.  I don't know how I got that mixed up. From here you can buy owners manuals for VW's if you bought yours without one.  I bought one here for my '86 GTi that was like new.  I still would like to find that John Henery site though.  I like the idea of a shared bunch of links since the ones that we used to be able to access are now gone.  Scott.

Re: Lost Volkswagen links.

Here is an addy I got somewhere that has a lot of links, John Henry included. Some are no longer good. I haven't had a chance to look at many of them.   http://members.lycos.co.uk/dubworld/airlink.html

Re: Lost Volkswagen links.

That's the one!  Thanks plantman.  I like thease two sites because they show pictures of guys working on thier VW's right in the garage or driveway.  That's why I like Volkswagens, because the regular guy can work on them.  Thanks.  Scott.
