Topic: Bug Over-heating

I have heard that you can tell that an air-cooled VW is over-heating
by touching the dip stick (on a warmed up engine). After driving
around this afternoon for about 30 minutes, I tried touching the dip
stick (because I suspected my car might be over-heating). It was so
hot that I couldn't hold it for even a half second. What are some
possible causes of my over-heating ills? What should I check? (The
fan seems to turning al'right).

Re: Bug Over-heating

early bugs can overheat for very different reasons than later bugs.
Note any modifications, or if any of the engine sheet metal is
missing?
