Topic: eurovan 93 auto transmission
Drive Train: This van runs & drives great with no problems at all.
Engine runs perfect with no leaks or noises. Transmission is an
automatic overdrive that shifts like it should. Also the
transmission was rebuilt by AAMCO Transmissions at 92k miles at a
cost of $2000+.(Receipt will be included in purchase)
And this
1993 Pop top Eurovan.$10,000 in recent reciepts ( everything new
except for transmission). Have total of $17,000 worth of reciepts
since 1996. Now the automatic transmission failed. The fluid is
clean and free of foreign particals. Transmission will not engage in
reserve or drive and For several years it shifted hard at approx
3000rpms Then 6mo ago seal began leaking trans fluid. Never tore
into it. I was advised by shop let it be until needed. Well I was
onn short drive and slipping badly 2 miles from home. Turned around
and parked it. Fluid appeared low but registerd. Towed to non vw
specialist here in GA. The guy I trust and willing to work on it.
Searching web found referance to others euro trans: "vw specialist
said it is most likly senoid or electric circuit problem" Could this
be Me? "Check trouble codes & or Scan It" What will this provide on
93 eurovan. Will my non vw specialist have enough diagnostic tools
for this.
Another entry said "Need Transmission control module" Me?
I hope toknow more soon. Repairable ? If not where does one find
used replacement trans or rebuilt? Seems that this may be
aproblem.
Any comment/suggestions welcomed.
