Topic: Clancy- '68 Horn Ring

Clancy,
Thanks for your help on my '68 horn ring. Over the weekend, I think
I identified the part that I am missing. When I remove the horn
ring and look into the top hub of my steering wheel, I notice that
there are two holes at the top. Is there supposed to be metal
contacts in those holes? I'm figuring that if there where, the horn
ring brass base plate would have something to come in contact with
to complete the electrical circuit. If not, the horn ring would be
merely contacting the plastic steering wheel hub- thus the horn not
sounding. Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Clancy- '68 Horn Ring

Clancy, et al,
I solved my horn problem. It turned out that I had not tightened
the three horn ring screws in all the way. The horn is working now.
Thanks anyway.

Lee: Glad you found the solution. That's what I was referring to. I
found once upon a time...the three screws just weren't turned in far
enough to get the brass plate close enough to make the appropriate
contact. Honk On, Lee, Honk On!! Clancy
