Topic: RPM increase from clutch
I have a 69 bug with a 1641 semi-rebuilt DP with a 009 dist. When I
start to let out the clutch when I take off, my rpm's increase
greatly without pressing on the accelerator. Is there any idea as to
why this happens?

Things I would check: Make sure the engine mount bolts are tight,
make sure the throttle cable is not contacting the clutch cable in
any way, and check to make sure your endplay is correct. If the
endplay is excessive, when you push you clutch pedal it could change
engine timing enough to cause this. Good luck!
