Topic: only 16 mpg whats wrong
i have a 70 1600 dual port with 009 dis merged header with stinger
and solex 31 pic carb but im only getting 16 mile to the gallon
what wrong???? the engine runs strong

Is it all timed, tuned, adjusted properly? Sounds like maybe some
hotrodding possibly! How is the compression? lots of idling on the
freeway or heavy traffic, long warm up times, choke out of
adjustment. You should get at least 22 or better.

> @@ Go check your Odometer again. 60mph x 60 seconds = 1 mile. I
tried
all kinds of things when I was having similar problems some years ago
and found out my odometer drive gear was slipping, and causing only
about 6/10 for every mile.
