Topic: floor pans....

I am replacing my floor pans, and was curious about the fiberglass
pans. They cost less to buy, but is installation more costly?
Which would be better, fiberglass or metal?

-any help appreciated!

I'm going to assume you do not have the capabilities to "weld" in
metal floors (my choice). If you do, use metal floors. Find out how
the the seats mount to the fiberglas floors. Metal pans ussualy have
the seat track attached so there's no need to purchase and attach
them. Some say you don't need to worry about rust with fiberglas but
if you prep metal floors right that shouldn't be an issue. Use a
product like POR-15 on metal and you'll never have to deal with
rust!

To do it right, use metal. If this is a beater mobile and you have
no plns of ever restoring or are just trying to fix it to keep from
falling thru the floor and want a quickie job, use the glass. You
can never go wrong with the metal but it is a lot more work to do
properly. Good luck. Les Alderman
