Topic: '84 Scirroco Vibration

My '84 Scirroco has a pretty severe engine vibration at practically
all engine RPM. I have been told that it may be caused by a bad
engine mount. Is there any truth to this? I don't want to go
through all the expense of replacing an engine mount and find out
that I still have a vibration problem in the end.

If at all possible I'd like to do the job myself and save some money.
Can somebody give me some advice on how to do this job.

when i had a bad engine mount in my domestic car, high revs would
cock the engine up. Meaning the engine would move from the torque
of the high rpms. Hope this helps some.
