David;

I really know nothing about the TDI Jettas, but I'll shoot an
opinion...

If I were you I'd check my fuse panel. There might be a fuel cut-off
solenoid whose fuse is blown, and perhaps it affected the dash
lights as well.

Of course, if a fuse is blown there is probably a reason behind it -
one that will blow another fuse.

Sorry to be of so little help. I'm sure somebody else knows more.
You might also try posting on the Tech forum.

Well Good Friend,

All you have to do is go to your local grocery store and buy some
ready made chicken. Then eat it. After that take a nice nap while
your soaking in your tub. This should energize you into figuring
out the problem. You see in life a little relaxation from day to
day problems can bring about a sense of clarity within ones soul.
But if it does not work, then go take it to the shop. Okey dokey.

You need a new starter. I had this happen to mine, and the service
dept. said that it would be covered under warranty-it wasn't and it
ended up costing about $730.00.

glow plug. After a few minutes I would get all lights including

relay. It's located under the dash beneath the steering wheel and has
109 printed on it.Good luck. Also could be bad engine control
module.

Re: My 2000 VW Jetta TDI not starting?

Dear Guys,

We are having the same sort of problems with our 2000 TDI Jetta.
Last year, the engine lit came on and they had us replace the glow
plugs, relays and harness, now guess what, their bad again and VW
refuses to help.

I am going to write them, because I think it's another defective
part.

Thanks
