Original Price of 78 VW Convertable

My fiance and I just purchased a 1978 VW Bettle Convertable. It is
in amazing shape with just over 60k original miles. We paid $5500
for it and were wondering how close to the original price that was.
Does anyone know what the original price of a 1978 VW Bettle
convertable was?
