Topic: Transporter price

Saw a beautiful 1973 Transporter, ALL original.
52,000 original miles, original paint, all maintenance receipts.

Sounds nice, drives nice.

Asking price (I am on the east coast) is $10,900. Is that too much
to pay or about average. It has always been an east coast car,
stored inside.

Check Kelley's Blue Book. They have a web page, but vehicles built
before 1978 are not included. If you haven't used the blue book
before, there are instructions in the front of the book. Go to your
local library. Where are you located on the east coast? I'm in
Connecticut.

Yes, checked the web site for Kelley BB, but found the same thing,
nothing before 1978. Will check the library soon. Was hoping to
gather a few opinions of those who know more about VWs. Thanks
again.

Re: Transporter price

Also, before you buy, take the car to your mechanic. Tell him/her
that you're thinking about buying this vehicle and want to know if
there are any "surprises" lurking in the shadows. The seller
shouldn't have a problem with this. If they do, they probably have
something to hide and you should think about looking elsewhere for a
vehicle.

Sounds like you found a deal...we found one in Hampton, Virginia for
$20,000.00, was told it was a deal...If it's in good shape it is
worth that...We have a 1973 and it already has jumped quite a bit in
value since we started rebuilding it...we were offered $5,000.00
with it not running....good luck...Minnie>
