Hey guys
Have any of you bought a BRUCK distributor from cip1? It said made in Gremany so I assumed  tha I was going in thee right direction. The problems started when I installed it in my 1600 stock 1971 sb. replacing my 009 dist. The dang thing dont jive. when the engine is at TDC the rotor wont point at the #1 plug wire, no matter how you turn it. I laid the two distributors side by side and they are different in orientation??
Does this make any sense to any one? what am I doing wrong? Im a little hacked at being out $120.
here is what I got

thanks steven

The sad part about window replacement is that after doing all five windows, counting the windshield twice as we cracked mine also, It will seem easy as pie.... well maby a really hard to bake pie.

Sorry folks, I didn't realize that this was such a passionate subject. The belt wouldn't fit, the daughter said no, took a different car, end of matter.
But I do appriceate all the posts.
I was just little supprised that with all the bugs on earth, especially among the young, financelly strapped, drivers, this hasen't come up.
Of course after reading the comments and remembering whats holding my back seat in place, it wasen't a well thought out idea anyhow. probably best that it didn't work.

I was going to take my new grandbaby home with papa the other day and the rear seatbelt on my '71 superbeetle was too short to fit around the car seat. Has anyone on this site ever run across this issue? I'm sure in the 40 plus years of VWs this has come up before just not for me.

Hey Clancy, While were on the subject of VW trucks, I want one so bad I can almost taste it. My first choice would be a double cab like the second photo my second choice would be a single cab like the first photo.Obtaining one is becoming an obsession with me. I've finally got the go ahead from the Mrs.
The only hold up is that I want one running and  in fair shape for around $2500.00 and close enough for me to go and get it in one day. I would really like to get some more info. on these vehicles, like were they born that way or is it some kind of conversion kit? what years ect..
Any info or some more cool pics would be great.
thanks steven

I got mine in Arkansas for $1500 (at my wifes insistance) and I feel like we got robbed. Of course that didn't stop me from pouring a ton of cash into it.

Just my thoughts.
